What Is Pickleball?

A Lively Racket Game for all Ages and Abilities, at our centre our program is attended primarily by seniors & recent retirees.

Pickleball was created with one thing in mind: fun. It was designed to be easy to learn and play whether you’re five, eighty-five or somewhere in between.

Court and Gear

Pickleball is traditionally played on a badminton-sized court with special Pickleball paddles, made of wood or high-tech aerospace materials. The ball used is similar to a wiffle ball, but slightly smaller. The lower net and wiffle ball allow the game to be accessible to people of all ages and abilities, while still allowing more competitive players to test their mettle.

Come join active seniors on Tuesday and Thursdays from 9:00 am to noon, 12:30 – 3:30, and Wednesdays 12:30-3:30 from September to June at East Elmwood Community Centre. July and August will be Tuesday & Thursday mornings ONLY. We have paddles & balls, and there are experienced players eager to introduce you to the game.  Drop In Fee: $2.00 for each session
